Bring shade into a pergola, gazebo or backyard entertaining area without covering the space with a plain solid sheet. This desert camouflage netting uses warm brown and sand-toned colours with an irregular leaf-cut surface, making it a good fit for timber structures, neutral paving, dry-style landscaping and garden areas where green netting can look out of place. Used overhead, it creates broken, dappled shade; used vertically, it can provide decorative screening around selected outdoor zones.

Why It Stands Out

✓ Warm desert colour palette — suited to neutral gardens, timber pergolas, sandstone tones and outdoor areas with beige or brown finishes.

✓ Decorative gazebo and pergola shade — the irregular net creates a softer overhead effect than a flat solid cover.

✓ Open camouflage pattern — cut-out sections allow airflow and keep the installation visually lighter.

✓ Flexible garden screening — can be used vertically for partial privacy around patios, backyard structures and selected boundaries.

✓ Cut-to-fit format — trim the netting to suit the installation where necessary.

✓ Join pieces for larger areas — separate sections can be connected with cable ties to extend coverage.

Where It Works Best Outdoors

This pattern works particularly well around gazebos, pergolas, courtyards and outdoor entertaining areas where warm colours already appear in the landscape. It can be stretched across part of a garden structure to create a shaded seating zone, placed along a suitable frame as decorative screening, or used around camping-style backyard setups and temporary outdoor spaces. Because the desert colours are less foliage-like than green camo, they can also suit minimalist or dry-climate garden themes where a brown neutral cover feels more intentional.

How the Shade Net Creates Coverage

The surface is made from multiple irregular camouflage cut-outs rather than one continuous sheet. When the net is opened and fixed across a frame, those pieces overlap visually and interrupt direct sunlight, producing patterned shade below. The gaps also allow airflow through the cover. It is therefore different from a dense shade cloth or waterproof awning: the goal is decorative, breathable shade rather than complete sun or rain blockage. The amount of coverage varies with the installation angle and how much the net is stretched or overlapped.

How to Install

Option 1 — Suspended Between Anchor Points: Position the netting between suitable posts, trees, pergola supports or other stable anchor points. Secure the corners gradually and keep the tension moderate rather than stretching the net tightly like a structural shade sail. Adjust each corner progressively so the net sits evenly without excessive strain.

Option 2 — Fixed to a Pergola or Garden Frame with Cable Ties: Lay the netting evenly across the pergola, gazebo, patio frame or other structure. Secure the corners first, then pass cable ties through the existing openings in the netting and around the supporting beams. Add ties at regular intervals along the edges to distribute the load and help reduce movement or sagging.

Joining Two Pieces for Larger Areas: Place the two netting sections side by side with a small overlap. Pass cable ties through openings in both pieces, tighten them, and repeat along the seam until the sections form one larger panel.

Choosing the right size: 2 × 2 m and 2 × 3 m are suited to small garden corners, compact gazebo sections and partial overhead shade. 2 × 4 m and 3 × 3 m work well for medium patio or pergola areas. 3 × 4 m, 3 × 5 m and 3 × 6 m cover longer outdoor seating zones and standard garden structures. 4 × 4 m, 4 × 5 m, 4 × 6 m and 5 × 6 m are better for larger pergolas, gazebos and broad backyard shade areas. Measure before ordering and allow enough material for your chosen attachment points.

Care & Maintenance

Check the net and attachment points after windy weather and tighten loose fixings when required. Shake out leaves, dust and garden debris before storing. Avoid dragging the cut-out surface across rough edges that could catch the pattern. Let the net dry before folding it away.

Frequently Asked Questions

What sizes are available?
There are 11 sizes: 2 × 2 m, 2 × 3 m, 2 × 4 m, 3 × 3 m, 3 × 4 m, 3 × 5 m, 3 × 6 m, 4 × 4 m, 4 × 5 m, 4 × 6 m and 5 × 6 m. 2 × 2 m and 2 × 3 m suit small garden corners and compact gazebo sections.
How much shade does it give?
It gives dappled, open shade rather than full coverage. The cut-out pattern breaks up direct sunlight and lets air through. For more uniform shade, a solid shade sail or shade cloth is the better choice.
Which spaces does the desert colour suit?
The warm brown and beige tones suit timber pergolas, sandstone, neutral gardens and outdoor areas with beige or brown finishes.
Can I cut it or join pieces together?
Yes. Trim it to suit your space, or overlap two pieces slightly and join them with cable ties through the openings in both.
How do I install it?
Suspend it between stable anchor points such as posts, trees or pergola supports, or lay it across a pergola, gazebo or patio frame and secure it with cable ties, corners first. Cable ties and fixings are not included.
How do I look after it?
Check the net and fixing points after windy weather and tighten any loose ties. Shake out leaves and debris before storing. You receive 1 desert camouflage netting in the selected size.
