A sprinkler waters a circle. Gardens are not circles. Set one up on a narrow strip of lawn and half the water lands on the fence, the path and the neighbour's driveway; set it on a long border and you move it four times to cover the run. This one waters in a line instead. It lies flat along whatever shape you are watering, throws a fine curtain of spray from holes down its length, and covers the strip it is lying on rather than the circle around it. Lay it, turn the tap on, and the whole run gets the same water at the same time.

Why It Stands Out
  • It Waters in a Line — A sprinkler hose follows a narrow lawn, a long border or a row of seedlings exactly, so the water lands on the garden and not on the paving beside it.
  • Turn It Over and It Soaks — Holes up gives you a fine overhead spray. Roll it a half turn so the holes face down and the same hose waters at ground level instead. Two jobs, one product, no extra parts.
  • Quick Connector Fitted — A 16 mm quick connector on the inlet end clips straight onto a tap fitting. No adaptors, no thread tape, no trip to the hardware shop.
  • Removable End Cap — Take the cap off and join a second hose to double your run, or open it to flush grit out before it blocks the holes.
  • Soft and Flexible — It bends round corners and over uneven ground without kinking, which is what lets a water sprinkler like this follow the shape of a bed rather than cutting across it.
  • Three Lengths — 7.5 metres for a side strip, 10 for a suburban back lawn, 15 for a full run or a long border.
  • Rolls Up Flat — It flattens and coils down to almost nothing, so it lives on a shed hook rather than taking up a corner.
Where to Use It
  • Down a Narrow Lawn — The strip beside the house or between the path and the fence, where a round lawn sprinkler wastes most of what it throws.
  • Over New Grass — Fresh seed and new turf need light, frequent watering across the whole area. Lay it down the middle and lawn watering becomes a tap-turn twice a day.
  • Along a Vegetable Row — Between rows with the holes facing down, it waters the soil without wetting the leaves in the middle of a hot afternoon.
  • Through a Long Border — Weave it behind the plants and the whole border gets the same watering rather than the end nearest the tap getting all of it.
  • Across a Dry Patch — The corner the fixed sprinkler never quite reaches. Lay it there for an hour and the patch catches up with the rest of the lawn.
  • Around New Shrubs — A run past a line of new plantings gives each one the same soak, which is how they all establish at the same rate.
  • On a Timer — Clipped to a tap timer it becomes a garden watering system that runs at dawn while you are still asleep.
How It Works
  1. Pressure Lifts the Spray — Water fills the flat hose and escapes through the perforations as fine jets. More pressure throws the curtain higher and wider; less pressure drops it close to the ground.
  2. Which Way Up Decides the Job — Holes facing the sky, it sprinkles. Rolled over with the holes against the soil, it soaks. Nothing is adjusted but the hose itself.
  3. The End Cap Builds the Pressure — With the cap on, water cannot run out the far end, so the hose stays charged and every hole along the length works. Take the cap off and you can join another hose instead.
How to Use It
  1. Unroll It Along the Run — Lay it out flat following the shape you want watered, not in a straight line across it.
  2. Decide Which Way Up — Holes up for lawn and overhead watering, holes down for beds and anything you do not want wet foliage on.
  3. Clip On the Connector — Push the 16 mm quick connector onto your tap fitting and check the end cap at the far end is screwed down.
  4. Open the Tap Gradually — Bring the pressure up slowly and watch the spray height. Wide open throws water past the garden; around half gives an even curtain over the strip.
  5. Move It or Leave It — For a lawn, give each position twenty minutes and move it along. For garden irrigation on beds, leave it in place and let it run longer at lower pressure.

Tip: Put an empty tuna tin on the grass halfway along and run it until there is about 15 mm of water in the tin. That is a proper soak for most Australian lawns, and once you know how long it takes you never have to guess again.

Care and Maintenance
  • Flush It Before the Season — Unscrew the end cap, run the tap hard for a minute and push the winter's grit out the far end.
  • Clear Blocked Holes — If one section stops spraying, a pin through the hole and a flush usually brings it straight back.
  • Drain It Before Storage — Lift one end and walk the water out before coiling, so nothing sits inside through the off-season.
  • Keep It Out of the Sun When Idle — Store it coiled in the shed rather than left out on the lawn for months at a time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which length do I need?
7.5 m suits a side strip, 10 m a suburban back lawn and 15 m a full run or long border. Remove the end cap to join a second hose if you need more length.
Can it soak as well as sprinkle?
Yes. Holes facing up gives a fine overhead spray for lawns. Roll it over so the holes face the soil and it waters at ground level, which suits veggie rows and beds where you want dry leaves.
How does it connect to my tap?
The 16 mm quick connector on the inlet clips onto a tap fitting with no adaptors needed. The far end is a 10.8 mm threaded outlet with a removable cap. It also works with a tap timer.
How high does the spray go?
It depends on your water pressure. Open the tap gradually. Around half open usually gives an even curtain over the strip, while fully open can throw water past the garden.
How long should I water the lawn?
Place an empty tuna tin halfway along and run it until there is about 15 mm of water in the tin. That is a good soak for most Australian lawns. For a wider lawn, give each position about 20 minutes and move it along.
What if some holes stop spraying?
Clear the hole with a pin, then remove the end cap and run the tap hard for a minute to flush out grit. Drain it before coiling and store it in the shed out of the sun.
