You finish the mowing and the lawn looks good, and then you turn around and look at the path. Clippings in every paving joint, a drift of them against the step, a green film across the deck where the catcher tipped. A broom pushes it around and a hose turns it into a paste you will be scraping off tomorrow. Five minutes with this and it is gone. It fits in one hand, it runs off a battery, and it fires a narrow jet of air hard enough to lift wet clippings straight out of a paver joint.

Why It Stands Out
  • It is a jet, not a fan — 100 m/s through a small nozzle with 550 g of thrust, so it drives into joints and corners rather than wafting across the surface the way a wide blower does.
  • One hand, all of it — a handheld blower this size is held like a drill, so your other hand is free for the bin, the hose or the gate.
  • The trigger is the throttle — press harder for more air, ease off for less. Full power for a wet paver joint, a touch of it for seed trays and potting benches.
  • Cordless with the battery in the box — a 21V lithium battery and charger are included, so there is no extension lead out the laundry window and nothing to buy before you can use it.
  • Slide-on battery — it clips on and off like a power tool battery rather than being sealed inside, so a flat one is a swap instead of an hour's wait.
  • Earplugs supplied — at 50,000 rpm this is a loud tool and they have packed two pairs with it, which is more than most cordless blower brands do.
  • It fits in a drawer — stored in its own case, it lives in the laundry cupboard or the ute rather than taking up half a shelf in the shed.
Where to Use It
  • The paths and the driveway after mowing — the job it does better than anything else you own. Clippings out of paver joints in one pass.
  • Across the deck and the verandah — leaf litter, bark and dust blown off the boards and over the edge, including the strip under the outdoor setting.
  • Around the front steps and the entry — corners and the join between the riser and the tread, where a broom never quite gets in.
  • Off the mower and the whipper snipper — blowing the deck and the vents clear before the gear goes back in the shed, which is what stops grass setting hard on it.
  • Through the potting bench and the shed floor — potting mix, sawdust and cobwebs, at whatever pressure the trigger gives you.
  • Getting the charcoal going — a few seconds of air at the base of a barbecue or a fire pit does what ten minutes of fanning a newspaper does.
  • Drying the car after a wash — down the mirrors, the badges, the window seals and the wheel nuts, where a chamois leaves water that runs out an hour later.
How It Works

1. The turbo fan spins at very high speed — up to 50,000 rpm, which is where the air speed comes from rather than from the size of the blades.
2. The nozzle concentrates it — the opening is narrow, so the air leaves as a tight fast column instead of a broad soft push. That is the whole difference between this and a garden blower.
3. The trigger varies the speed — pressure on the trigger controls the fan, so you set the force by feel against the job rather than by a switch with two positions.
4. The battery slides on underneath — it locks into the base of the grip and releases with the catch, same as any cordless tool.

How to Use It

1. Charge it fully before the first run — the charger is in the box, with an Australian plug.
2. Work with the wind, not against it — walk the same direction the breeze is going and everything moves ahead of you. Start upwind and you will do the job twice.
3. Start at the back and finish at the gate — push the debris toward where you want it to end up, in one direction, rather than chasing it in circles.
4. Hold the nozzle low and angled forward — about a hand's width off the surface, pointing the way you are going. Straight down and you blast it everywhere.
5. Feather the trigger near garden beds — full power at the edge of a mulched bed redistributes the mulch across the lawn.
Tip: do the paths before you mow, not after. Blow the clippings and leaves off the hard surfaces first, then mow across them and the catcher picks up what the blower left on the grass. Everybody does it the other way round and ends up doing both jobs twice.

NB: this is built for hard surfaces, and it is worth knowing that before you unpack it. The narrow nozzle and the 550 g of thrust are what let it dig wet clippings out of a paver joint and clear a corner a broom cannot reach, which is a different job from pushing a season's worth of leaves across a lawn. Used on paths, decks, driveways, steps and the shed floor it does in five minutes what a broom does in twenty. It is also genuinely loud at full trigger — the earplugs are in the box for a reason, so put them in and be considerate about the hour you use it in a close-set street.

Care and Maintenance
  • Clear the air intake after every use. Grass and dust pulled in at the back is what makes any turbo blower lose pressure, and it wipes off in seconds.
  • Take the battery off before it goes in the case. Stored on the tool it drains slowly, and off it does not.
  • Charge it before it goes flat rather than after. Lithium batteries last longer topped up than run empty and left.
  • Keep it dry. It blows water off a car beautifully and it is not meant to be rained on itself.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it strong enough to clear leaves off the lawn?
It is built for hard surfaces. The narrow nozzle fires a tight 100 m/s jet with 550 g of thrust, which digs clippings out of joints and corners on paths, decks, driveways, steps and the shed floor. Pushing a season of leaves across a lawn is a different job, better suited to a wide garden blower.
Is the battery included?
Yes. A 21V lithium battery and a charger with an Australian plug are in the box, so there is nothing extra to buy. The battery slides on and off like a power tool battery. Charge it fully before the first use.
How do I control the power?
The trigger is the throttle. Press harder for more air and ease off for less, so you can use full power on a wet paver joint and a light touch on seed trays, potting benches or near mulched beds.
Is it loud?
Yes. The fan spins at up to 50,000 rpm, so it is loud at full trigger. Two pairs of earplugs are included. Wear them, and be considerate about the time of day you use it in a close-set street.
What is the best way to use it?
Walk with the wind, start at the back and work toward the gate, and hold the nozzle about a hand's width off the surface, angled forward. A good habit is to blow the paths before you mow, so the catcher picks up whatever is pushed onto the grass.
How do I look after it?
Clear the air intake after every use, take the battery off before it goes in the case, top up the charge before it runs flat, and keep the blower out of the rain. It comes in black or blue.
