February arrives, the veggie patch wants a drink daily, and the only window that suits is the twenty minutes before you leave the house. Hand watering is fine while the garden is small — then a heatwave lands, or a long weekend comes up, and the one job that will not wait depends entirely on you being home.
This water timer for a garden tap takes the routine off your hands. It threads onto the outdoor tap and runs your sprinklers, drip lines and garden hoses to a schedule you set once, so automatic watering carries on while you are at work or away. Choose the 1 Zone model when one watering line does the job, or the 2 Zone model when two parts of the garden need their own timing from the same tap.

Why It Stands Out
-
Automatic watering — set the start time, duration and frequency, and the timer runs the routine without you at the tap.
-
1 Zone or 2 Zone — one outlet for a single line, or two independently programmed outlets so separate garden areas get their own schedule.
-
Manual watering mode — open the valve for a quick water without deleting the automatic program.
-
Rain delay — pause the program through a wet spell, then pick it up again without rebuilding the schedule.
-
Low-battery protection — the display warns you when power is running low, and the valve is designed to shut to reduce the risk of uncontrolled watering.
-
Child lock — helps stop stray button presses from altering the program once it is set.
-
Outdoor-ready build — rated IPX5 for weather resistance outdoors.

Where to Fit It
-
Lawn sprinklers — its best job: a sprinkler timer that runs the lawn early, before the heat pulls the moisture straight back out.
-
Veggie patch — a steady daily cycle keeps tomatoes, beans and leafy greens in rhythm instead of swinging between soaked and bone dry.
-
Drip irrigation — longer, slower cycles suit drip lines feeding fruit trees, shrubs and established beds.
-
Garden beds and borders — set a short cycle for a bed that needs a top-up every second or third day.
-
Greenhouse — automatic watering matters most in the spot that heats up fastest and dries out first.
-
Two areas at once — on the 2 Zone model the lawn can run on one outlet while a drip system runs on the other.
-
Any standard garden tap — the BSP-compatible model threads straight onto a standard Australian outdoor tap.

How It Works
1. Thread it onto the tap — the BSP-compatible fitting hand-tightens onto a standard garden tap, and your hose, sprinkler or drip line connects to the outlet.
2. Program the cycle — set the duration anywhere from approximately 1 to 360 minutes, and the frequency from hourly intervals through to multi-day schedules of up to 15 days.
3. The valve does the work — at each programmed start the timer opens the valve, waters for the duration you set and closes again on its own.
4. The LCD keeps you informed — the large display shows the current time, start time, watering duration, frequency and next scheduled start at a glance.

How to Set It Up
1. Fit the timer — thread it onto the outdoor tap by hand, without tools.
2. Add the batteries — install 2 × AA 1.5V alkaline batteries.
3. Connect your line — attach the garden hose, sprinkler or drip-irrigation line to the outlet — Zone 1, Zone 2 or both on the 2 Zone model.
4. Set the clock and schedule — enter the current time, then the start time, watering duration and frequency.
5. Use rain delay — switch it on when wet weather is forecast, for one day or several.
6. Use manual mode — run water whenever you need it without touching the saved program.
Tip: watch the first full cycle through — it is the quickest way to see whether the duration you chose wets the root zone or just the surface.

Care and Maintenance
-
Rinse the inlet filter — clear it periodically so grit does not slow the flow through the valve.
-
Check the washers — if seepage appears, inspect the washers and reseat the fitting by hand.
-
Replace batteries early — act on the low-battery warning rather than waiting for the schedule to stop.
-
Store it indoors over winter — in frost-prone areas, drain the timer and keep it inside until watering season returns.
